Valentine's Day Look

Valentine's Day Look

Valentine's Day is right around the corner - it's weird to think it's already February! Whether you're going on a hot date with your beau, having brunch with your gals, or even spending it with your family, Valentine's Day is always a fun holiday to get all dolled up for.

This entire look was created with drugstore makeup, with the exception of the Make Up For Ever lipstick (color C105), which I got at Sephora. I love, love, love this foundation by No7! It's on the pricier end for drugstore makeup, but I still consider it affordable. I've tried numerous other foundations, which all made me break out and left my skin dry and flakey. This one has great lightweight coverage and the bottle lasts me awhile!

I apply the Revlon PhotoReady concealer under my eyes, on my T-zone, and over any blemishes. For extra coverage under my eyes, I use the Revlon PhotoReady pressed powder over top of the concealer. I, unfortunately, was blessed with heavy dark circles under my eyes. I've read so many articles about it and the conclusion is that... it's genetic. I've found this combination to work fairly well, but I'm always searching for something better!

I'm pretty pale right now (boo, winter), so I use this No7 bronzer (in Maple) pretty sparingly - just enough to give me a little color. As for the blush, this is my favorite drugstore blush I've tried! It looks super pigmented at first glance, but don't let that scare you. I've personally found that it's all about the brush you use and how you apply it.

Another feature I struggle with (thanks, Dad) are my eyebrows. I've tried a couple different pencils/fillers, but this brow pencil is by far my favorite. Another go-to for me is always using two mascaras. I've been using this combination for awhile now, and when I tried out a new mascara a couple months ago I found my lashes to be clumpy. So, for my lashes, this drugstore combo is gold. As far as eyeliners go, I switch it up regularly. I have found that I like liquid pens the best, which is what I used in this look.

Let's be honest, a girl can never have too many eyeshadow palettes. I actually just got this palette to try for this look. I was drawn to it because of the fun, fresh colors and the variety of lights and darks. You can create a soft romantic look or you can go heavy-handed with the darker plum for a more dramatic, sexy smokey eye.

Wow, I almost forgot about a very important feature: those falsies! I love fake lashes. I think they're one of the easiest ways to glam up your look. My favorite brand is Ardell. I usually gravitate toward the more natural looking falsies vs. the extremely heavy ones, but I think it all depends on the occasion.

Last but not least, the lips. As you might have noticed in the collage above... yes, I used blush (in the Peach Bums color) on my lips. I actually got this because I thought it would be a more shimmery, almost highlighter-like blush. It didn't take to my cheeks the way I wanted, so one day I tried it on my lips. I love wearing it on top of more neutral lipsticks, like the Make Up For Ever one I used in this look!

Now on to this adorable outfit! There are so many directions you can go with your V-day outfit, and most of it depends on what you'll be doing. I think this outfit could work for date night with your girls or S.O. or even a day date - just swap the heels for some adorable tennies.

This festive shirt is from the Lauren Conrad collection at Kohl's. You can always count on her for on-trend pieces. The rose gold necklace is also LC. The skirt is from Target - a great find on the sale rack! To finish the outfit, I slipped on these suede grey heels (similar), which I got from Target about two years ago.

I think my Valentine's Day will be spent with my girlfriends probably drinking wine and watching some chick flick! What are your Valentine's Day plans?

xoxo
