Bachelorette Party Recap

Bachelorette Party Recap

Hi guys!

It's been awhile since I've posted anything. To be quite honest, I haven't had the time or energy to write new posts. Wedding planning (and my sanity) come first. But I am SO excited to tell you guys about my bachelorette party!

So I'm not sure if it's odd to have a bachelorette party three months before a wedding, but that's what I did! I wanted to do it in the summer so we could enjoy the nice weather.

So let's get to talking about the weekend. I chose Kansas City because it was the most convenient location for everyone that was coming — and because KC is obviously super fun. I took a half day at work on Friday and then three other girls and I started south at about 1:30. The drive from Des Moines to KC is one of the easiest. It's a straight shot and takes about three hours exactly. I should also let you guys in on something not-so-fun ... I woke up sick on Friday! I had a fever, headache, and sore throat. I somehow pushed through and the weekend was great! But why do things like that always happen at the worst times!?

We stayed at The Fontaine hotel in the Country Club Plaza. It's a boujee little gem with a rooftop pool and delicious restaurant, Parker, which was also on the top floor so it had great views.

Friday night we went to dinner at Parlor KC. It's an upscale food hall with two bars and seven different restaurants. It was super cute and the pizza (of course I got pizza) was bomb! I shared the Motor City (which is Detroit-style deep dish) with two girls. Other people tried sandwiches, sliders, and salads — everything looked really delicious!

From there we walked to SoT, which is a super cute cocktail bar. The drinks were great, the vibe was chill. After having a few there, we ended the night at Power & Light. That wasn't in our original plan, but Shark Bar is always great if you're in the mood to dance!

Saturday we started with brunch at Parker where I got a breakfast burrito and one pancake as a side (I can never decide between sweet and savory). Then it was time to chill at the pool. The pool was super cool and connected to an inside bar where you could get drinks to sip on while getting sun. It felt so great to just relax all day, I really haven't had much time to do that this summer!

For dinner we went to The Oliver, which was a short one-block walk from The Fontaine. Also, I should mention that we really lucked out with aaaamazing weather for my bachelorette party! I got the chicken tacos per someone's suggestion. I also tried someone's chopped salad which was super good. So good that I almost wished I had gotten that instead! If you're visiting KC, I would highly recommend The Oliver, it was great!

When we got to the hotel, I wanted to take pictures with everyone. Although there were a lot of girl to get through, I'm so happy because I'll have these photos forever! After opening gifts (my friends did great, they know me so well!), we headed out to Westport for the night. I didn't want my bride tribe to wear the traditional black dress. Instead, I wanted us to pop, which is why I asked everyone to wear bright, fun colors. I think it turned out great!

This weekend was just what I needed; all of my girls together in a fun city. I feel refreshed and reset with new memories that we'll all bond over forever. Keep scrolling for more pics from the weekend and to shop my looks!

I couldn't link the Selfie Leslie dress I wore on night two below, but it's this dress. But before you look for it there, I found the same dress at Forever21 for way less (just my luck to find it after my bachelorette weekend is over). It's linked below!

    1. Telogen effluvium is a condition that affects the hair follicles. It is a temporary shedding of hair that is due to an interruption in the natural cycle of hair growth.
Telogen effluvium can be caused by many things, including illness, stress, and exposure to chemicals or radiation.
Hair thinning can be mild or severe, and it can occur at any stage of the hair growth cycle. The most common symptom of Telogen effluvium is acute shedding of hair that lasts for several weeks.
