3 Office Wear Ideas

3 Office Wear Ideas

I recently had a coworker approach me with a blog suggestion. She requested I do a post about office style. I love fashion—always have—and I love picking out my outfit each day for work (sometimes Mondays are a different story!).

For those of you who don’t know, I work at Meredith Xcelerated Marketing in downtown Des Moines. There isn’t really a dress code—or at least I haven’t been informed! The workplace is pretty casual—people pretty much wear whatever they want—not their pajamas, of course. Below I’ve put together three outfits that I love and think are perfect for the workplace!

Retro-Inspired Dress

I just can’t help myself—I love the aesthetic of lady-like dresses. This dress is from the Who What Wear line at Target. It's no longer available, so here is a similar dress. I love the retro pattern and design, the contrast the black cuffs and collar create, and the modest knee-length cut (perfect for the workplace). With sleeves and a belt that ties at the waist, this dress would flatter any body type! I paired it with simple black suede heels—also from Target.

Laid-Back Casual

I apologize in advance to those of you who can’t wear jeans to work! This is about as casual as I get—relaxed denim, a comfy shirt (similar), and casual shoes (I love pops of color, so of course I had to include my favorite loafers—also seen on my last post.) If you can’t wear jeans to work, you can still pull inspiration from this outfit—just replace the jeans with black slacks or a fun printed skirt.

Color Pop

As I mentioned before, I love me a good pop of color. I’ve really been into this blood orange color lately! This sweater is a part of the new line at Target, A New Day. It’s super soft and I always appreciate a funky sleeve, which is why I love the bell-bottom shape these ones have. It’s fun and flirty, yet totally work appropriate. I paired it with black jeans and black suede booties. Sometimes I opt for minimalism when it comes to jewelry, but you could definitely add a fun necklace or earrings to this outfit!

Happy Shopping!
