21-Day Fitness Challenge: Day 2


I woke up today thinking I was going to workout at my work's gym, but then I forgot my workout clothes at home. So, when I went home for a quick lunch, I made a mental note to grab my gym gear ... and forgot again.

During the last hour of work I, for some odd reason, got the itch to go on a run. Even though I grew up a runner and can usually get back into it fairly quickly, I don't choose to go on runs very often. And that's for a number of reasons. But for me, the biggest reason is because my body is so used to running that I feel like it doesn't do a whole lot for me anymore.

Anyway, today I decided to run from my house to Gray's Lake. It's exactly one mile from my house to the entrance, so I ran there and back. Total I ran three miles. I know it's not much--and I know I wasn't moving too fast--but it was the first time I had ran that distance, outside, and in the heat in a long time.

You know when you're working out so hard and sweat drips into your eyes and it stings? Yeah, I had a lot of that going on today.
