Life Lately: July 2018

Happy Sunday, everyone! I hope you all had a great weekend and accomplished everything you wanted to. I know I’ve been a little absent lately, but I really can’t say it enough — summer is too busy! Seriously, I love the hot weather and everything that comes with it, but it’s hard to enjoy it knowing it’s just flying by.

July was a whirlwind for me. The Fourth of July happened and then I felt like it was August already! The night before the fourth, some friends and I celebrated downtown here in Des Moines, it was pretty low-key. On actual Independence Day, a friend and I went to Adventureland. If you’re not from Iowa, you’ve probably never heard of it. It’s a smaller amusement and water park right outside of Des Moines. Let’s just say we had a good time and I got a little sunburnt.

The second weekend in July I attended one of my best friend’s couple showers back home. It was a great time and I got to catch up with a lot of friends I don’t see very often. I can’t even begin to tell you how excited I am for her wedding in October! The next day, I headed further west to Lincoln for my nieces first birthday party. I can’t believe she’s one already!! She was so sweet at her party walking around smiling — it’s like she knew everyone was there just for her!

The last couple weeks of July were filled with birthday parties, a baby shower, and two going away parties. On top of all of the social obligations I had, July was also a very busy month at work. So, you could imagine that coming home and getting back on a computer at the end of the day was kind of the last thing on my mind.

And now, August is here! Which means the Iowa State Fair is here AND I’m about one month away from my Europe trip. Yep, that’s another thing that has been consuming my time. I’m going to Europe in September! I’ve been busy researching, planning, and writing an itinerary. I had no idea how much work goes into creating an itinerary … by the end of this, I may just have to become a travel agent. ;)

From September 15 – 27 me, my sister Megan, and my parents are traveling to Munich, Prague, and Copenhagen. Planning is still underway, so if you have any suggestions on things to do and see or places to eat and drink, let me know! We will have about three days in each place, so plenty of time to explore.

I hope everyone has a wonderful week ahead!

xoxo
