Hi, everyone! I’m Shelbie, a 23-year-old Iowa native giving this blogging thing another go. As some of you may know, I previously had a blog with my two sisters. We went strong for about a year and then life got busy! As expected, as a young adult, I’ve recently experienced some life changes (growing up is real!). Over the past couple of months, I’ve had numerous family and friends suggest I start blogging again. So with their helpful nudge, here I am. I wanted to take this first post to tell you about myself and my inspirations for the blog.
I’m a born, raised and current resident of the Midwest. I live
in the magical little historical neighborhood of Sherman Hill in Des Moines,
Iowa, with one of my childhood best friends and our kitten Fritz. Just this
month, I started a new job at Meredith Xcelerated Marketing in downtown Des
Moines where I work as an Associate Content Manager. So, I guess you could say
I enjoy writing!
If you know me at all, you know that I’m obsessed with
keeping up with the latest trends – fashion, home design and beauty, just to
name a few. This blog will be a lifestyle blog covering everything from the
previously mentioned to travel, life experiences and everything else in
between.
When deciding what to call my blog, I struggled a little. I
tried to come up with some catchy, clever name like a lot of bloggers, but
nothing felt right. I’ve always used Shelbie Renee (my first and middle name)
on all social sites since the very beginning. I searched the domain, it was
available and then things just sort of fell into place.
